Bronze course | fruit riding boot brushes
Kohlrabi, bronze boot brush, 2018

This work shines light on the poetry of found forms and captures a moment of animation amongst the inanimate. These objects explore playful associations between organic and inorganic matter through the medium of bronze. The forms were created using the burnout method of casting, in which the organic objects are burnt directly out of the mould. With reference to the tradition of still life painting, this transformation encapsulates the life of the ephemeral forms at the height of their visual appeal.
