Gl, gl, gl: an altered seabed
St Kilda sand, St Kilda sand transformed into glass, vinyl gloves, wax, glue, plaster
Collaboration with Madison Elrick, Intermission Gallery
2016

This project was catalysed by the discovery of microplastics in the beach sands around Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne. As a living work, the sand was returned to the bay at the conclusion of the project and the gloves donated to Monash University sculpture workshop. Madison Elrick introduced wax, glue and plaster sculptures to the work, when installed at Intermission Gallery, seeing forms and matter poetically meet.
